Open City ist eine Wohltätigkeitsorganisation, welche Menschen befähigt, mehr über ihr Wohnumfeld zu erfahren, sich damit verbunden zu fühlen und es mitzugestalten. Open City verfolgt das Ziel, die gebaute Umwelt offener, zugänglicher und gerechter zu gestalten. Die Organisation veranstaltet dazu jeden September das Open House Festival, um die Stadt London und ihre Wohnquartiere zu öffnen und feiern. Darüber hinaus organisiert Open City ein ganzjähriges Jugendprogramm, welches Stadtplanungs-Workshops an Grund- und Sonderschulen, sowie ein Mentoring-Programm für junge, oft von der Architektur ausgeschlossene Menschen. Open City organisiert zudem ein ganzjähriges Programm mit Veranstaltungen, Podcasts, Führungen, Veröffentlichungen und Videomaterial, um Wissen über Städte und die Art, wie wir in ihnen leben, zu demokratisieren.
Last but not least unterstützt und pflegt Open City den weltweiten Dialog im Netzwerk von über 60 Open-House-Festivals in der ganzen Welt, von Lagos bis New York.

Open City is a charity based in London which empowers people to learn about, feel connected to and help shape their living environment.
Open City aims to make the built environment more open, accessible and equitable. The organisation hosts the Open House Festival every September to open up and celebrate the city of London and its neighbourhoods. In addition, Open City organizes a year-round youth programme, which includes urban design workshops in primary and special schools, as well as a mentoring programme for young people often excluded from architecture.
Open City also organizes a year-round program of events, podcasts, guided tours, publications and video material to democratize knowledge about cities and the way we live in them.
Finally, Open City supports and fosters global dialog in a network of over 60 open house festivals around the world, from Lagos to New York.
